The Whitewave Wigwams are a brilliant addition to the facilities available at Whitewave Skye's Outdoor Centre. The wigwams are in a fantastic location for exploring the island and all it offers. The centre runs half-day outdoor activity sessions for all abilities. (These must be pre booked as demand is high in the summer.) The Wigwams are a fab size for a couple, grand for a family of 4 or a friendly squeeze for 3-4 adults. Fantastic views of the western isles and stunning sunsets from your door!
Whitewave has two types of wigwam available. The standard wigwam, called the Big Chief is serviced from the centre with toilet, shower and small kitchen area available.
The en-suite wigwam has a toilet, shower and small kitchen included making it ideal for those wanting that extra comfort!
The Whitewave Wigwams enjoy vast stunning views across the Minch to the Outer Hebrides, and you can have the most incredible sunsets from your doorstep. Located within the grounds of a small family run outdoor centre, half-day activity sessions with full instruction and equipment can be booked in kayaking, climbing and abseiling, crating, canoeing, archery and mountain boarding.
The wigwams are perfect for exploring Skye, with walking on the Quiriang, the Storr and the coastal path to the cliffs and point of Rubha Hunis, which is excellent for whale watching. One of Skye's few sandy beaches is a short drive away at Staffin and cycling the 'loop' around the north end is a great day out.
Shop, cafe, fuel and pubs are 4 miles away in the harbour village of Uig.
We only have the two Wigwams and most visitors enjoy this exclusivity.
Sleeping bags/sheets/pillows and towels available for hire - please see below.
